AAP announced Candidates for Tilak Nagar and Shahdara Delhi Assembly Constituency

Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) announced its candidates for two Assembly constituency seats of Tilak Nagar and Shahdara.
The party has decided that well-known social activist Advocate Surender Sharma would contest election on AAP ticket from Shahdara and Jarnail Singh would fight elections from Tilak Nagar vidhan sabha.
With this, the party has announced candidates for a total of 42 seats.

Surender Sharma, who is an advocate in Karkardooma court, is also a social activist who has been fighting long legal battles for water rights of common man.
He has been elected as the Secretary of Shahdara Bar Association (Karkardooma Court) for five times.
In 1995, he filed a PIL in which the High Court ordered the water supply line of entire Shadara to be changed.
Similarly, it was on his writ petition that the court ordered building of an underground reservoir in Shalimar Park worth 20 crores, benefiting residents of Shahdara.
His writ petition also led to implementation of Water Master Plan 2011-21, in which there is a provision for building 52 water reservoirs all across Delhi.
The water master plan also has provisions for supplying water to Delhi from Renuka Dam in Himachal Pradesh and Munak Canal from Haryana. Both these when implemented could reduce the water woes of the capital drastically.

On the other hand, thirty three-year old Jarnail Singh, AAP candidate from Tilak Nagar, has been an active member of party right from its inception.
He has also been closely associated with Anna Aandolan for Jan Lokpal Bill, organizing several candle light marches for the passage of the Bill when Anna Hazare sat on fast at Ramlila Maidan. In his personal life also,
Jarnail has worked very hard.
A self-made man, he started from a humble salary of Rs 500 and worked his way up to start a water purification plant. He is also actively involved in community service.
